ShotSpotter Flex℠ to Help Police Department Respond Safer and Faster and Gain Valuable Gunfire & Crime Intelligence Data

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Atlantic City, NJ Police Department (ACPD) today announced its partnership with SST, Inc., the world leader and innovator in wide-area acoustic surveillance and gunfire location and alert technology, to subscribe to SST’s ShotSpotter Flex℠ solution to detect and locate gunfire incidents and gather gunfire intelligence in its effort to improve the safety, security and quality of life for its residents by ridding the city of gun crime and gun violence. ShotSpotter Flex is the only wide-area acoustic surveillance gunshot detection, alert and analysis solution in the world and delivers the critical data and actionable information that public safety and law enforcement agencies need not only to respond efficiently to gunfire incidents faster and more safely, but also to enable them to proactively develop effective problem-oriented, data-driven policing strategies and tactical operations using the real-time intelligence provided by ShotSpotter.

ShotSpotter Flex will be delivered to the ACPD in a subscription-based services offering, making it more affordable and more easily deployed, and without the burden and cost of managing hardware and additional IT and other resources. ACPD will leverage the actionable intelligence and real-time and immediate gunshot location data provided by ShotSpotter Flex to support its strategic policing measures in a designated ShotSpotter Flex coverage area.
