Rocky Mount Police Department to Leverage Gunfire Location & Intelligence Technology to Improve Public Safety & Reduce Gun Violence in its Communities

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The City of Rocky Mount, NC announces that the Rocky Mount Police Department (RMPD) has implemented the ShotSpotter Gunfire Alert & Analysis Solution for real-time and immediate gunshot location data, which enables accurate decisions for emergency response, helps improve situational intelligence and elevates first responder safety. The ShotSpotter gunfire alert data and intelligence is helping the RMPD by providing more information and forensic evidence for investigations and analysis, leading to increased prosecutions for gun-related crime. The data also enables enhanced crime analysis and predictive policing capabilities, helping improve public safety.

In an effort to make the city safer and improve the quality of life for the community, the RMPD has worked collaboratively with other law enforcement agencies and community partners in recent initiatives such as Operation Disarm 4, a program designed to eliminate gun crime and remove violent offenders from the streets. As part of its ongoing commitment to combating crime, the RMPD is seeking even greater results through its use of ShotSpotter technology.
